This premium 6×4 shed offers excellent garden storage. It is a dip-treated, shiplap, apex shed which is part of Forest Garden’s The Better Shed Range, offering a stronger build and better features than other wooden sheds.

Expertly designed and built by one of the UK’s leading shed manufacturers, The Better Shed’s intelligent modular design means it is delivered in smaller sections, making it far easier to assemble than other garden sheds. This modular design also results in more extensive 28mm shed framing, ensuring an incredibly robust structure and far greater resistance to warping.

The walls are constructed from 12mm shiplap cladding. Shiplap is built using interlocking tongue and groove boards which offer a tight, weather-resistant finish with greater strength and warp-resistance than overlap construction. Shiplap also features a scallop which aids water run-off and provides an attractive finish. Where the panels join together, cover strips are used to ensure the structure remains weathertight.

A thick 14mm pressure-treated timber boarded floor with pressure-treated bearers not only provides a long-lasting, effective barrier against ground moisture, it allows for the storage of heavier tools and machinery machinery too. A timber floor is far superior to standard OSB flooring as it is more durable, more attractive and won’t sag.

Made from 8mm OSB, the roof is supplied with felt.

Access to the 6×4 shed is gained via a single door, which can be hung with a left or right-hand opening, to suit the garden’s orientation. It also features double-Z framing to prevent the door from dropping. Tamper-proof hidden hinges and a hasp and staple plate, designed for a padlock (padlock not included), help keep stored items safe.

Once inside, high eaves offer plenty of headroom and the opportunity to store taller items, while a PET-glazed window provides natural light. This window is made from recycled materials, virtually shatterproof and will never discolour or become brittle. The window panel can be placed in a choice of positions. All of the timber is FSC®-certified, so only soured from sustainable, well-managed forests. Fixtures, fittings and clear instructions are included for a simple assembly, although a professional installation service is available to buy as an optional upgrade.

A pressure-treated shed base and a lean-to kit for extra sheltered storage space can be purchased as optional extras too. Please be advised that this lean-to kit is pressure-treated for a longer life and so is a different shade of timber to the shed.

This wooden shed is supplied dip-treated and should be coated in a quality wood preservative, annually, in order to maintain its handsome appearance and validate the excellent 10-year anti-rot guarantee.

Wooden Shed Base Kit

As an alternative to laying slabs or concrete, this shed base is a faster, more cost effective DIY solution.

The wooden shed base consists of a framework that is made from UC4 incised timber which has been pressure treated. The pressure treatment ensures that the framework is robust and is guaranteed to resist rot for an impressive 15 years.

Plastic Shed Base Kit

Quick and simple to install, the 6×4 plastic shed base kit is ideal for avoiding the hassle of laying slabs or concrete when preparing a base for a new shed. Its interlocking design makes it easy to put together and, though lightweight, it provides a very strong and durable base for the shed. Made from 100% recycled plastic, this shed base is eco-friendly. Also, it can be reused if the shed is repositioned. The base allows for ventilation and drainage under the shed, helping to keep the shed floor dry.

To install the base, simply interlock the square grids together and lay onto a firm, level area of ground. We recommend using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square is 500 x 500 x 40mm. This pack contains 12 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane.

Please be advised that we do not assemble plastic shed bases as part of our installation service. You must prepare the base yourself in advance of the installers’ visit.
